We welcome volunteers at the farm, where there is always something to do! The many ways to volunteer include:

  • Physical: Volunteer at the farm to enhance, repair, and clean animal areas.
  • Administrative: Stuff envelopes, solicit donations, and keep the tunes jamming.
  • Construction: We will be constructing a new barn and other structures in the future. If you have experience in construction, please let us know!

For the second quarter in a row, Greg Achtemichuk has garnered the highly coveted MVV Award! This time around, Dr. Greg put his back into it and helped us build a “goat wall” outside the barn to protect the goats from the elements and keep the outer barn area a little more tidy. Thanks again, Greg. The Brown Dirt Cowboy rides again!

Past Volunteer Events

Spruce Up the Farm Day

On July 8, 2023, Barn Stars supporters gathered at the farm to help with repairs, general maintenance, and cleaning the facilities. Bart and Greg replaced a rotted fence post — no easy task! Yaro cleaned the barn floor and cleared the walls of cobwebs. Eric and Mike mended fencing; Danelle, Teri, and Nat scrubbed the Chicken Brothel; and Scott revitalized the Chicken Playground. Greg also provided a lesson in trimming goat hooves! The Barn Stars Crew logged 32 total hours and were rewarded with a pizza feed for their benevolent efforts.
