At Barn Stars, we combine the things we love: rescuing and helping farm animals live a carefree life, literally “out to pasture,” and the love of ’70s music and pop culture. Granted, it’s a strange pairing but we think you will find that it is, indeed, strange magic.
For goats, chickens, alpacas, and other farm friends, Barn Stars Animal Rescue is THE groovy place to be. A little slice of paradise nestled in the heart of the Maltby area in Snohomish County, Washington, our secluded sanctuary is an idyllic place to let their love grow.
Our Stars get to frolic and graze to their heart’s content on three acres of protected fields. Whether they’re basking in the warmth of the sun or romping in their large playground, Goatville, rest assured they are living the sweet life.
But beyond just having fun, we provide our Stars with medical care, plenty of nutritious food, and oodles of love. And the best news is that we don’t charge them a cent for rent. Thanks to generous donors like you who believe that every life matters, our animals are on top of the world.

Chandler & Joey. These two Snowy Mallards have joined the Clucks of Quackerville. They have become the gossip girls of the pond, quacking loudly and proudly most of the day.

It is with great sadness to report that we lost two of our originals.
Theodore, along with his previously passed mother, Rose, were our very first rescue goats. He was a fun little guy who grew into the King of the Barn. Well-respected and treated with deference by all the other goats, he will be remembered for his sweet demeanor and toothless smile.
Madame Buttercup was one of the “original six” ladies who comprised the Chicken Brothel and was quickly elected as Madame of the Brothel. She was small but formidable and definitely in charge of her fenced universe. You will always be remembered by anyone who visits your brothel.
We’re a group of animal lovers raised in the 1970s who are straight ahead and on track now, making our dreams come true.
From goats to chickens to alpacas (and new arrivals joining us all the time), one look at these adorable faces, and you will be hooked on a feeling.
