A Groovy Sanctuary for Farm Animals
in Snohomish County, Washington

Welcome to the far-out world of Barn Stars Animal Rescue!

At Barn Stars, we combine the things we love: rescuing and helping farm animals live a carefree life, literally “out to pasture,” and the love of ’70s music and pop culture. Granted, it’s a strange pairing but we think you will find that it is, indeed, strange magic.

The Goats in Goatville at Barn Stars Animal Rescue

For goats, chickens, alpacas, and other farm friends, Barn Stars Animal Rescue is THE groovy place to be. A little slice of paradise nestled in the heart of the Maltby area in Snohomish County, Washington, our secluded sanctuary is an idyllic place to let their love grow.

Barn Stars Animal Rescue, a Sanctuary for Farm Animals in Snohomish County, WA. Advocate. Educate. Celebrate.

Our Stars get to frolic and graze to their heart’s content on three acres of protected fields. Whether they’re basking in the warmth of the sun or romping in their large playground, Goatville, rest assured they are living the sweet life.

But beyond just having fun, we provide our Stars with medical care, plenty of nutritious food, and oodles of love. And the best news is that we don’t charge them a cent for rent. Thanks to generous donors like you who believe that every life matters, our animals are on top of the world.

New Stars on the Farm
Chuckles & Blackbeard, two of the chickens at Barn Stars Animal Rescue

Chuckles & Blackbeard. These two Australorp beauties came from two different roads that happened to intersect at Quackerville Station!

Hazelnut. Hazelnut came to us with her sister, Olive. Unfortunately, Olive passed suddenly in her sleep shortly after joining us. Hazelnut has adjusted well to the Chucks and has joined the other two Orpington chickens in Quackerville to form the Brown Ladies Club.

Meet Pepper Anderson, our new chicken addition at Barn Stars Animal Rescue.

Pepper Anderson. She was the last, lonely chicken in her flock, but now Pepper has 9 sisters to call her own.

All four of these ladies have officially been inducted into the Order of the Chucks and will live out their lives happily in Quackerville.

Welcome all our new ladies!

A Sad Update

We are so very sad to report the passing of two of the absolute rocks of our farm.

First, one of our O.G.s (original goats), Ichabod. Ichabod came with his twin brother Louie as babies sitting on our laps and grew to 200 pound beautiful Nubians. It was a sad day to lose our happy little man.

Second, our wonderful Scout passed away far too soon at the age of eight. He and Hazel were our top security team, keeping the farm safe and spreading his always-positive energy to all who live here and all who visit here. We are not the same without you, Scouty!
